Q2: Where can I find more detailed information about MobileMark 2005?A2: BAPCo has published a whitepaper on MobileMark 2005, it contains detailed information, guidelines, discussion and background information. The whitepaper can be obtained here. Q3. Do BAPCo products compare performance of application software?A3. No. BAPCo's desktop products are meant to compare the performance of the computer hardware only. Q4. What is the difference between a 'nit' meter and a 'lux' meter?A4. A light meter measures "illumination" or that amount of light falling upon a specific point. Photographers use light meters to measure how brightly lit their subject is so that they can set the right speeds and apertures for their camera to best capture what they see. A nit meter measures the "luminance" or the amount of light that is being emitted by some specific light source (a light bulb, the sun, a computer monitor). Accurately measuring the luminance of a specific light source, and only that light source, requires more precise instruments and procedures than those used by most photographers. The concept of luminance is related to the concept of illumination, but there is no direct correlation owing to the realities of scattering, reflections, refractions and other properties of light. For more information on the proper methods of measuring the luminance of a flat panel monitor, one should consult the authoritative standard, the Flat Panel Display Measurements (Version 2) guide from the VESA standards body, www.vesa.org/Standards/summary/2001_6a.htm. Q5. Can I compare the results from 'Office productivity 2002SE' to the Office productivity score from MobileMark 2002?A5. No, these two cannot be directly compared. Although these workloads are similar in content there are not identical and therefore should not be compared. Q6. How do I obtain support?A6. Please first refer to the MobileMark 2005 support pages. Contacting technical support information is available from here. Q7. Will MobileMark 2005 work from any install?A7. Please refer to the system requirements section of the documentation for further information. |
