Test Results

Testing is finished when the battery is depleted and the system shuts down. When you power up the computer after testing, MobileMark 2005 will automatically run at startup and analyze the results of the test.

MobileMark 2005 creates three files containing test results: results.html, results.csv, and FDR.txt. These files can be found in the project results folder (program_files_folder\BAPCo\MobileMark 2005\results\project_name, where project_name is the project name you chose during test setup). After analyzing the results and generating the files containing the results information, MobileMark 2005 will launch the Results Viewer and show you the contents of the results.html file for the test.

If MobileMark indicates that the test failed, see Technical Support for suggestions to resolve the problem.

Viewing Test Results (results.html)

MobileMark 2005 will launch the Results Viewer after a test is completed. The Results Viewer can also be launched from the Start menu by choosing Start > All Programs > BAPCo MobileMark 2005 > Results Viewer.

When the Results Viewer opens, it automatically displays the results.html file for the most recent test. To view the results from another test run, click Open and choose the project name for that test.

If the test ran successfully, "Test Succeeded" will appear at the top of the results window. Otherwise, "Test Failed" will appear, along with an explanation of the error. If you understand what caused the error, correct the problem and restart the test. Otherwise, see Technical Support for troubleshooting strategies and technical support instructions. If the test failed, test scores will not be available.

The table below explains the information displayed in the Results Viewer:

   Test Setup
Name of project The name of the project, chosen during test setup.
Test performed The name of the workload that was run.

Results (results shown vary by workload, and no results are available if the test failed)
Battery life rating
(All but System Conditioning workload)
The actual system battery life, in minutes, measured from the start of the test to the minute the system lost power. Higher is better.
Performance rating
(Productivity 2002SE only)
Performance score, relative to a baseline score of 100 for the MobileMark 2005 calibration system. Higher is better.
Average response time
(Productivity 2002SE only)
The average amount of time, in seconds, that the system took to perform operations during the test. Lower is better.
Battery life at beginning of test The % remaining battery life reported by the system when the test began. If the system battery is in good condition and you prepared the test correctly, this should be 100%.
Battery life at end of test The % remaining battery life reported by the system before the test ended. If the system battery is in good condition and the test ran successfully, this should be 0%.

   System Power Policy
ID A number that represents the power scheme you have selected in the Control Panel > Power Options dialog. The first power scheme in the list is 0, next is 1, etc.
Power source The power source that was being used immediately after the test was started: AC or Battery.
CPU power management mode The active CPU power management mode, as reported by the OS:
  • Adaptive (automatic)
  • Constant (battery-optimized)
  • Degrade (maximum battery)
  • None (maximum performance)

The Results Viewer also displays information about the system's hardware and software configuration.
