Software Compatibility Notes

Because of the complex nature of benchmarks like SYSmark that install multiple applications, there are some important software compatibility issues of which you need to be aware.

Applications in SYSmark 2004

Upon installation, SYSmark 2004 will install customized versions of 17 applications on your system. If you have previous or current versions of these applications already installed, they will conflict and possibly corrupt your applications, your benchmark scores, or your entire operating system. For this reason, we require that you DO NOT have these applications installed prior to SYSmark 2004 installation.

• Discreet® 3D Studio Max™ 5.1
• Macromedia® Dreamweaver® MX
• Macromedia® Flash MX
• Microsoft® Access 2002
• Microsoft® Excel 2002
• Microsoft® Outlook® 2002
• Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2002
• Microsoft® Word 2002
• Microsoft® Windows Media™ Encoder 9 series
• Network Associates® McAfee® VirusScan® 7.0
• ScanSoft® Dragon NaturallySpeaking® 6 Preferred
• WinZip Computing WinZip® 8.1

Note: If you had Microsoft Office previously installed, and uninstalled it, you must, before installing SYSmark 2004, delete the following registry key : HKEY_local_machine\Software\Microsoft\OfiicecustomizeWizard.

BAPCo SYSmark 2002

BAPCo SYSmark 2002 is a stand-alone application and cannot be upgraded to SYSmark 2004. SYSmark 2004 cannot be installed over SYSmark 2002. and should not be installed and run on a system that has ever had SYSmark 2002 installed.
