Installation
SYSmark 2004 SE is distributed on a DVD ROM that contains everything you need to quickly install and run the benchmark suite. Please READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY.Before you install the benchmark, please read the System Requirements and the Software Compatibility Notes. Also check www.bapco.com for the latest product updates, downloads and information. Prior to installation of this or any new software, you should always do a full backup of your system.
SYSmark 2004 SE installer can be installed in the Normal mode or, the Silent mode which requires no user interaction during install time. In the Silent mode, all the default options are selected by the installer. The user can also preset the responses in the response file - setup.iss. This will require copying the whole DVD to your hard disk and making changes on this file.
Normal mode
- Insert your SYSmark 2004 SE DVD into your DVD-ROM drive. The installation program should start automatically. If it does not start, use Windows Explorer to locate and double-click on setup.exe
- Click "Next" at the Welcome screen.
- Select "I ACCEPT" at the license agreement.
- Enter your user name and company name at the "Customer Information" screen and click "Next".
- View the information on the destination directory and click "Next".
- Click "Next" at the "Select Program Folder" screen.
- If you have any programs that are started automatically from the registry, you will be asked if the SYSmark 2004 SE installer can move these program shortcuts to an alternate location. They will be restored upon un-installation. It is recommended to click "Yes".
- If you have any program shortcuts in the startup folder, you will be asked if the SYSmark 2004 SE installer can move these shortcuts to an alternate folder. It is recommended to select "Yes".
- SYSmark 2004 SE installation will now begin. At the end of the installation, please reboot the system as prompted.
Silent mode
If starting the setup from the same directory as the Setup.exe, Setup.exe –s should start the install. If starting from a different location, the path of the response file has to be explicitly specified : Setup.exe-s -f1 <path\Response File>
Example: Setup.exe –s –f1c:\sm2004src\setup.iss
Uninstallation
- Go to the Control Panel and click on “Add/Remove Programs”.
- Select SYSmark 2004 SE and click on “Change/Remove”.
- Select the default prompts. You may be asked to reboot the system.
