Benchmark Run Types
The project configuration page allows the user to specify the type of the run - Official Run or, Custom Run.
Note: Anyone wishing to publish WebMark 2004 performance results must use results generated from a complete and successful Official Run.
Official Run
An official run of WebMark 2004 is a BAPCo-certified run sequence consisting of a trial run followed by three iterations of the benchmark. On Windows XP, the ProcessIdleTask API is called after the trial run in order to optimize Windows XP performance. The system is rebooted before each benchmark iteration.
Custom Run
When a custom run is selected, the user can specify the suite (Standard, Information Processing suite, Commercial Transactions suite) to run and the number of iterations. The standard suite The user also has the options to include trial run and reboot between iterations.
Trial Run
When a Trial Run is included, one iteration of the benchmark is completed before running the specified suite. On Windows XP, the ProcessIdleTask API is called after the trial run in order to optimize Windows XP performance. The Trial Run is not used to calculate the ratings for the run.
Note: WebMark 2004 also can be run from the the command prompt.
